50 Days Until We Launch!

Hello wonderful world!

It is 50 days until June 1st, in which, on that day "The Rain Cyclists" (team name as of now, but like all things in life, subject to change) will be taking off from San Diego California, on bike and en route to Portland Maine! It'll be a long haul, 50 miles a day, 10 mph, 5 hours a day all done by the seat of our pants! 1,400 miles a month, 3 months, around 4,200 miles altogether! So, America, be ready, because this lovely bunch of coconuts will be waving bye to your hometown soon!

I, myself (Joseph Michels), self nominated fearless leader of the "The Rain Cyclists" want to do this for a few good reasons. First and Foremost, we are doing this cyclo-tour to raise money and donations to the Arthritis Foundation! For the 1 in 5 adults that are affected by Rheumatoid arthritis, and the nearly 300,000 kids affected in the US alone! As of now, we have currently raised a mere $470. I only say mere because our goal is $20,000! So find the link on this blog to my donations page, where you can donate online or get a monetary donation card. Also on the donations page is my story, stating the real reason why this cyclo-tour is so important to me! The Arthritis Foundation has just done so much for me since I was diagnosed at the age of 3 with Systemic Idiopathic Rheumatoid Arthritis. So in kind turn, I feel I must do so much for them! Please check out my full story on the donations page!

I am asking my fellow Rain Cyclists to have a small write-up of themselves for up and coming blog posts. I'd like for everyone to get to know them a bit, so stay tuned for future posts!

Things to look forward to: Hawaiian Zombie Pub Crawl in Fond du Lac WI, as of now May 18th. A super awesome T-shirt design for the pub crawl will soon be drawn by my brother Adrian Anthony, and you won't want to miss out on one of these shirts! I'll post up a picture when its drawn! They will be for sale at the Pub Crawl, and if you personally message me that you'd like one!

I'm sure you all have a ton of questions, for I am not one to hit every note! So please, comment, ask away, send fund raising ideas, and most importantly, TELL YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND FOES!

As of now, signing off until further notice!
